The Verse brand will be 2 years old in December 2024.

Our brand welcomes visitors from 192 regions around the world each month, and is highly visible by users in the self-custodial Bitcoin.com Wallet app.

We are fortunate to be able to draw in users with our strong brand and highly visible domain. Many of these users are new to crypto. They will be experiencing bull and bear cycles together with us in the future, and we are committed to making their first steps in crypto as easy, fun and rewarding as possible.

While the current branding for Verse has served us well, we have matured in how we communicate and deliver value to our users. Our first endeavor was a Decentralized Exchange (DEX), which provided traders an easy and permissionless way to get the tokens they desired, while rewarding liquidity providers with yields as high as 150% at its peak. Since then, we’ve grown the Verse Ecosystem with multichain swap capabilities, Web3 browser integration with the Bitcoin.com app, NFTs, engaging decentralized applications (dApps) like the Verse Clicker, Verse Scratcher, and more — all with the objective to make our users’ first steps in crypto as easy, fun and rewarding as possible.

Our current branding for Verse has the following challenges:

1. While the current logo looks futuristic and communicates innovation, it is uninviting for web2 users.
2. Brand colors are black and blue, which appears cold and again, uninviting.
3. The use of “Space” imagery reinforces the exclusivity — not many web2 users will relate to it.

We believe a brand refresh for Verse would allow the Verse Ecosystem to:

1. Become more relatable and inviting and for new crypto users
2. Communicate a sense of inclusivity for new and old joiners alike
3. Communicate our shared values of making crypto as easy, fun and rewarding as possible

Furthermore, we expect a brand refresh to amplify excitement as we introduce the next major plans for the Bitcoin.com Verse ecosystem.

Proposal

1. We are proposing to execute a brand refresh on the Verse brand elements: trademark, colors and imagery.
2. Three options for the future brand direction are provided below for the community to vote on
3. The selected brand direction will be rolled out incrementally across our digital and physical touch points

Option 1: “Evolution”

Highlights:

This is a softer take on the current branding. The trademark comprises a left diagonal supporting a letter V on the right. This represents the existing community of ambassadors, developers and advocates (left diagonal) supporting the new users taking their first steps on their crypto journey (letter V). The color gradient from cool blue to passionate pink represents our community’s desire to share the love of crypto with everyone around them (friends, family, colleagues).

Option 2: “Hearts and Hands”

Highlights:

This is a bolder take on the current branding. The trademark comprises a letter V, with the left diagonal in a brighter shade than the right. This represents the existing community of ambassadors, developers and advocates supporting the new users taking their first steps on their crypto journey (left diagonal). The trademark outlines a shape of the heart, representing our objective: to make it as easy, fun and rewarding as possible for new users starting on their crypto journey. The trademark also outlines two hands held together, which represents our community’s desire for supporting others, encouraging inclusiveness, and fostering collaboration.

Option 3: “Maintain Status Quo”

Highlights:

This is our current branding for reference. If you vote for this option, you are voting to maintain the status quo and accept the challenges of the current branding.

The voting period for this proposal will commence on 15 July at 0:00 UTC and will conclude on 22 July at 0:00 UTC. During this time, we encourage all members of the Verse community to express their preferences and actively contribute to this significant decision.
