Monero (XMR) Hard Fork Event
Monero has confirmed the date of the network upgrade, also known as the hard fork event. This fork will occur around July 16, 2022 , at block height 2668888. This is the fifteenth upgrade of Monero, also known as Upgraded for the v15 Monero network.
This upgrade focuses on privacy and performance, including:
- The ring size was increased from 11 to 16, a move that increases the total number of anonymous “signers” per transaction.
- Bulletproof+ , which will make the encryption and verification process on the blockchain faster, reduce the size of the transaction and increase the verification performance by 5% to 7%.
- Multi-signature mechanism fixes.
- Reform of fee mechanism and improve network security.
